Diamond heart necklace, do people like that stuff?

It does seem like this kind of thing would be selling as a last minute Valentine's gift. Personally, I'm not a girl who is into the diamonds & gold thing.
I think that the problem is the entire point of buying gold/diamonds (not that this SHOULD be the point, just that it seems like it is) is to show how much money you have and how your diamond is much bigger than everyone else's. I think sometimes girls who REALLY want this kind of thing enough to ask for it are pretty specific about what they want.
Also, perhaps the males involved are nervous about what their girlfriend would like and are concerned that their other half would be upset if they showed that they were interested in getting a good deal.
